It has a far superior display and graphics, and for an additional $300, it's got the fancy new Touch Bar as well. On the other hand, it's always tempting to opt for the latest and greatest, which in this case would be the year-and-a-half newer MacBook Pro. Using this year's MacBook Pro, especially for professional applications, is likely to demand the use of adapters and other peripherals. The Air has a few things the MacBook Pro doesn't, namely traditional ports. That's a significant amount, so it complicates this decision. The base model Air starts out US$500 cheaper than the Pro.
